taken from GoogleEach year I start the year with a two liner. This year is:
Be kind
In 2009
Sounds easy, doesn't it? In reality it is not always easy. But with God's help, I would like to say at the end of the day that I have been kind in each and every situation that might arise.
I have been doing "two liners" for twenty years are so. Just for fun. . . nothing profound. Here are the ones since the turn of the century.
The long awaited 2000 is here
Let's greet the new without fear.
Take time for a little fun
And "smell the roses" in 2001
May my complaints be few
In the year of 2002
As I walk the pathway of 2003
My spirit is free but I need a new knee.
And, yes, I got the "new knee". . . a total knee replacement. . . with no problems!
Fret less and trust more
In the year of 2004
Keep Hope alive
In the year 2005
As Hope remains fixed
Walk by faith in 2006
With renewed Hope
We welcome 2007
The only year that didn't rhyme. . . I just felt the need to keep a focus on Hope.
Encourage your mate
Every day of 2008
There is room for improvement on encouraging!
We now enter a new year. . . I always look forward to that "new page" in life.
A New Leaf
He came to my desk with a quivering lip.
The lesson was done.
"Dear teacher, I want a new page," he said,
I have spoiled this one."
I took the old page, torn and blotted,
And gave him a new one, all unspotted,
And into his sad eyes smiled:
"Do better now, my child."
I came to God's throne with a trembling heart.
The year's work was done.
"Dear Father, I want a new life," I said,
"I have spoiled this one."
He took my old life, torn and blotted,
And gave me a new one, all unspotted;
And into my sad heart smiled:
"Do better now, my child."

Love this, Mary! When I first read that you were going to share all of them since the beginning of the century - it made me pause. Wasn't thinking that was only a few short years ago!
One of my other blog friends said today "Looking for the divine in 2009". I loved that. I hope to look for Jesus more this year.
Love you,
Sheryl
Mary,
Good to see a post from you! Love the two liners, and being kind in 2009 is a good motto. And yes, with God's help everything is possible.
I hope 2009 brings many blessings your way. Happy New Year!

Hey there friend!
Loved the two liners, especial the one about the new knee. As I st with my knee propped up on a pillow switching between the heating pad and an ice pack. A week of painting base boards in my DD room and un-decorating my house, most of which consisted of crawling around on my living room floor sorting ornaments out into their proper boxes has taken it's tole on the old knees. I fear that possible knee replacement may be in my future. It seems that no sooner does it get to feeling better it goes right back out again. Glad to here your went well. But I did not stop to comment to whine and complain. (well maybe i did) I was so glad to see you new post. I hope you have a great January and I look forward to your return in February.
Blessings
Robin

Wow...you are so talented. I'm not sure why 2008 didn't get an A+. I think it's very deserving of it.
I really enjoyed these...20 year of it...how wonderful.
I will look for your update on my sidebar coming in February.
Have a nice break.
Love,
Paula

Mary!! So great to hear from you today. Thank you. I just love to see it when a comment comes in from you.
Interesting that you were in BSF. After I finally got there I ended up attending for at least 12 years. My parents began the classes here in our area. They were the teaching leaders for the women's and the men's classes. Now you can imagine how they felt having this prodigal daughter.
God sure was faithful.
Look forward to hearing from you again on your blog.
Love you,
Sheryl

great post..wow! that's a great hobby to do with somewhat like a words of wisdom ryt? well ur ryt being kind isnt easy specially so if the people around u is just triggered u how to be mean or say words that isnt good to hear..but i would say all these years i am more of the down to earth kind of person and always keep my feet always on the ground and be kinder, but sometimes i felt like people just wanted to step on my face and take advantage of the kindest i have shown but still no matter what i have tried to be really really kind...but u are absolutely right..it is not as easy as it seems to be...
